Tomorrow's Teachers Training Summer 2026
Welcome to Tomorrow's Teachers
Established in 2007 as a curricular program for high school juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a career in teaching, the program uses the Teacher Cadet curriculum (Experiencing Education, 12th Edition) created by the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement (CERRA). The course, typically offered as a Dual Credit Course through students’ high schools and one of the participating universities, offers students valuable insight into the rewards and challenges of being an educator and the critical issues affecting the quality of education in American schools. It also equips aspiring teachers with an awareness of teaching and learning that empowers them to become community leaders and advocates for education. High school students can earn college credit at one of the participating universities:
Fairleigh Dickinson University, Kean University, Rider University, Stockton University
Who Teaches the Course? Why not you?
Each summer, several New Jersey universities work together to prepare current high school teachers to teach this course to students in their districts. This year the two-day course is being offered online. Participating teachers will have access to the full digital curriculum in Year One as part of the training. A $60 fee will be required in subsequent years. The training will be offered in Summer 2026 and will provide you with the curriculum, resources, and strategies to engage with future educators. It is recommended that teachers have a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience before delivering the Tomorrow’s Teachers course.
