Climate Change Learning Collaborative: Climate Change and Our Community: Pinelands (CORE#3)
This session explores the unique challenges climate change poses to the New Jersey Pinelands ecosystem. Key issues include a rise in wildfire frequency, the spread of invasive insect species, shifts in forest composition, sea level rise, increased brackish water intrusion, and changes in water quality. The workshop will also examine ongoing and potential efforts to mitigate these impacts and protect this distinctive environment.
Please note: This workshop is intended for PK-12 teachers from New Jersey Public Schools. All CCLC workshops are available at no cost but pre-registration is required. Teacher stipends may be available for workshops occurring after the end of the school day.
