CS Coastal Hub Workshop - Physical Computing with Hummingbirds for Cross-Disciplinary Learning for Grades 6-12
This workshop emphasizes PBL and design thinking through hands-on physical computing projects. Educators will design cross-disciplinary projects that integrate science, math, and humanities using the Hummingbird Robotics Kit and use MakeCode, Python, or Snap! to program the lights, motors and sensors of the Hummingbird Devices. The session will guide teachers through the design process, where they will practice how students conceptualize, build, and iterate on interactive projects, such as data-driven art installations, environmental monitoring systems, or historical simulations. Participants will leave with structured project plans that support authentic inquiry, computational thinking, and iterative learning.
